Stanley Hauerwas: The Life of a Theologian, The Theology of Life

I recently ran across this great youtube interview with Stanley Hauerwas. Given the recent questions around here regarding theology's relation to belief and faith, I thought this was a great resource for discussion. Its long but Hauerwas is a great example of how theology affects all areas of life, and in fact his most recent book Hannah's Child is subtitled: A Theologian's Memoir because Hauerwas is of the opinion that he could not tell his life story without God. In particular i enjoyed his brief definition of a theologian's job: to continually remind us that we cant just make Christianity up, but we receive it. On a side note I should say that I, like most, enjoy Hauewas' candor and wit, and recently bought a book (Claude Welch's In This Name) from my seminary bookstore which was previously owned by Hauerwas, and some of his small notes, especially when he disagrees (and when I can actually read his handwriting) were worth just as much as Welch's excellent book. At any rate enjoy the video!
